According to Western media, Eastern Europe is a place where feminism has yet to be developed. I was certainly under that impression as well before visiting. I was very surprised to discover that in many ways they are much more advanced in empowering women than the West.

Marrying age
Perhaps partially as a result of the previous point, in EE countries, the marrying age is shockingly low, compared to Sweden. Granted, of course, that Sweden has the highest marrying age in Europe, perhaps the world. In Sweden, the average age for your first marriage is 36 for men and 34 for women. At their lowest (Ukraine and Moldova), 27 for men and 24/25 for women.
