May 22nd 1949—Sept 24th 2016
Sharon Elizabeth (Williams) Kirmeyer, PhD passed away September 24, 2016. She was an internationally known demographer and an expert in the discipline of morbidity (disease) in women and infant mortality. Dr. Kirmeyer earned her doctorate at Brown University. She was initially employed by the United Nations in New York, NY for 10 years. She then spent 10 years at the Futures Group in Raleigh NC and retired after another 10 years at the internationally recognized CDC in 2016.
Dr. Kirmeyer's reputation was such that she was asked for by name by heads of state to do studies and write software for their national interests. She was a person of integrity, strong faith and family values. She is survived by her three brothers, David, Spokane WA; Ben, Laguna Beach CA; Doug, Shoreline, WA; her cousin Lynn Brady, Tallahassee, FL, and numerous caring friends and colleges around the world.
