the 2015 U.S. Transgender Survey is coming soon

Dear Ba-ldei Aga,

Since the 2015 U.S. Transgender Survey (USTS) closed in September 2015, the release of the results has been highly anticipated. For the last several months, my colleagues and I have been working day and night to analyze the data and complete the report. We’ve appreciated your patience and support as we’ve worked to bring this important resource to fruition. Today, we’re excited to finally announce that NCTE will be releasing the final survey report on December 8.

We are so thankful for everyone who pitched in to make this the largest survey of transgender people in the United States to date, with nearly 28,000 respondents. I am especially grateful to all of those who participated in this historic survey to make their voices heard and share their experiences.

We hope that this report will reshape how America understands the diverse experiences of transgender people, including non-binary people, throughout the United States. There is still a lot of work to be done in educating policy makers, educators, advocates, and the general public about the individual experiences of transgender people.

The report’s in-depth analyses will highlight the disparities that disproportionately and uniquely impact the transgender community. Additionally, personal stories included in the report will illustrate the complexity and nuances of the issues that transgender people face in the United States.

We are so excited to soon be able to share this resource with you, and we know that you will use this report to raise awareness and prompt conversations about the unique experiences of transgender people in the United States.

Click here to register for our livestreamed launch event on December 8 at 1 p.m. Eastern Time!

Best regards,
Sandy
