Professor of History at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Karen Petrone will give a fascinating lecture comparing the history of women's rights in the U.S. and the Soviet Union/Russia during the 20th century. Come and find out the extraordinary events leading to women's equality in both countries. Were there similarities? Differences? You might be surprised! 

Dr. Petrone is an author and scholar on cultural and gender history, especially in Russia and the Soviet Union. Her book, "The Great War in Russian Memory," is considered a major contribution to the study of Russian cultural history in the U.S.
