It's LGBT adoption and fostering week, an occasion that encourages same sex couples and LGBT+ people to consider fostering and adoption. In many countries, that is still a criminal offence while some even punish homosexuality by death. The following map uses data rom the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association to show where joint adoption and second-parent adoption are allowed, along with the countries where there are no laws allowing same-sex couples to adopt.
