Nearly two dozen countries have introduced legislation legalizing same sex-marriage, according to the Pew Research Center. The United States became the latest country to legalize gay marriage on Saturday after a historic Supreme Court ruling. The 14 states with bans in place are no longer able to enforce them. Ireland also made headlines in May when it legalized gay marriage through a popular vote, the very first country in history to do so. Greenland's parliament has also unanimously approved same-sex marriage and adoption. These measures will go into effect on October 1st.
